Medical Identity Theft Discussed at Farmers Market

Elkhart General is offering a free seminar titled “Medical Identity Theft and How It Can Affect You” on Friday, September 25th at 11am. The seminar will be held in the Healthy Lifestyle Corner on the 2nd Floor of the American Countryside Farmers Market in Elkhart.

Tami Long, RHIA/CHP, Director of Elkhart General Health Information Management and Privacy Officer for Elkhart General Healthcare System, will explain how Elkhart General is protecting medical records, what steps are taken to correct the medical record once identity theft has occurred, and what agencies are available to help if you’re a victim of identity theft. She will also provide a check list of the steps you can follow to resolve identity theft.
