Local Health Organizations Partner to Offer H1N1 Education

To help Elkhart County community members learn about and prepare for H1N1 (swine flu) infection in our region, local healthcare professionals from Elkhart General Hospital and the Elkhart County Health Department will offer a free educational program on the H1N1 virus from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Elkhart YMCA, 200 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart.

A panel of experts will present information on a host of H1N1-related topics including an updated overview of the virus, details on what Elkhart County might expect for flu activity, practical tips on what residents should do if they experience symptoms, how H1N1 is transmitted, and vaccine recommendations. There will be time for questions and answers, and everyone in attendance will receive a resource gift bag to help protect themselves and their families from H1N1.
