Kraft Appointed Director of Managed Care

ELKHART, IN – John Kraft has been promoted to Director of Managed Care for Elkhart General Hospital and Executive Director for Elkhart Medical Organization (EMO), a Physician Hospital Organization.  He will manage all contractual relationships for EMO and all hospital provider contracts with insurance providers, as well as oversee the day-to-day operations of the combined EMO/Managed Care department.

Created in 1995, EMO provides a network of over 15,000 practitioner locations, including 600 hospitals, throughout Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and the Chicago area to 38 employers and 17,000 employees. EMO clients have access to almost 600 accredited hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and other facilities.

For the past five years, Kraft has served as Elkhart General’s Director of Reimbursement. He has 27 years of experience in healthcare finance, including Chief Financial Officer in rural hospitals.

Kraft earned a B.S. in accounting from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois and is a certified public accountant. He is an Advanced member of Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) where he recently earned the Follmer Bronze Merit Award for outstanding service. He is currently on the Strategic Planning Committee of the Indiana Pressler Memorial Chapter of HFMA.

Kraft, his wife Marie and three children reside in Granger, Indiana.
