Elkhart General Rehabilitation Program Lauded
August 13, 2004

ELKHART, IN – The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) reports that the Elkhart General Inpatient Rehabilitation Program has achieved an “extraordinary accomplishment.”

In their recent survey which resulted in a three-year accreditation, CARF made no recommendations for improvement, a level of quality that occurs in only about three percent of the surveys they perform nationally each year. CARF is an independent, not-for-profit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Program uses an interdisciplinary team to help patients regain physical functions, independence, and self-esteem for conditions resulting from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, and many other illnesses and trauma.
