Elkhart General Breast Care Center Receives ACR Accreditation

ELKHART, IN – The Elkhart General Breast Care Center has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence in Mammography, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Breast Ultrasound and Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

The Elkhart General Breast Care Center’s state-of-the-art equipment and board-certified medical staff received accreditation for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation. Evaluations were conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assessed the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of the facility’s equipment. The surveyors reported their findings to the ACR’s Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provided the Breast Care Center with a comprehensive report.
