Pain Management Services

The American Pain Society defines pain as an unpleasant experience, real or imagined, that may or may not involve tissue damage.

Woman on Bridge

The philosophy of the Elkhart General Center for Pain Management is to relieve pain when possible. The emphasis is to enable patients to become more functional, so that they can perform more of their daily activities unhindered. The patient will be “more in control of their pain, and therefore in control of their life.”

The Regional Center for Pain Management offers a full range of pain management technology in three specific areas: acute (short term), chronic (long term), and cancer pain. The Center offers treatment of many different conditions ranging from headaches, back pain and cancer pain to severe arthritis, nerve injuries, and unexplained abdominal and pelvic pain.

The Regional Center for Pain Management

Located on the fourth floor of Elkhart General Hospital, the Elkhart General Regional Center for Pain Management provides outpatient services during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Emergency services are provided 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Our nursing staff has exceptional experience in both acute and chronic pain control.

Facilities include private examining rooms, a fluoroscopy suite, and an operating and recovery room. Drawing upon the resources of Elkhart General Hospital in areas such as psychology, psychiatry, physiatry, and physical therapy, the Pain Center physicians also work closely with primary care physicians, surgical subspecialists, and internal medicine subspecialists.

All Pain Center physicians are board certified in the specialty of pain management.
