Nursing Services

When nursing is required most people assume it must take place in the hospital. But that’s not always the case. Elkhart General Home Care provides nursing care to patients of all ages who are recovering from surgery, stroke, heart problems or major illnesses. We provide two types of nursing care: skilled nursing which consists of intermittent acute care and nursing for wound and ostomy care. The skilled nurse will assess the patient’s home environment, as well as physical/clinical needs and coordinate patient’s plan of care with physician. The skilled nurse will also coordinate additional Home Care services such as Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Medical Social Worker and Home Health Aides as needed, therefore providing the best possible medical treatment available to meet the needs of our patients.
