Colon Cancer is the third most common cancer in men and women and the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. When detected at an early stage, it is 90% survivable. However, if the cancer spreads to other parts of the body, the survival rate drops to 9%.
There is something you can do to find colon cancer early or prevent it from even developing - get tested regularly. Colonoscopy screenings can detect and remove colon polyps before they become cancerous.
For more information about colon cancer early detection guidelines, talk to your physician.
