Internship Program

Through our internship program for new graduates, we provide a solid theoretical base and early hands-on experience you just won’t find at other hospitals. Our in-house BSN program, staff-developed Clinical Ladder program, and tuition reimbursement opportunities allow you to study new areas in nursing, earn educational credits, and stay on top of the ever-changing medical field.

Continuing Education Opportunities in Nursing

Our Nursing units offer a unique, peer-developed Clinical Ladder Program allowing you to proactively manage your nursing career and gain educational credits, as well as the only in-house BSN program in the state, making it easier to create a healthy life-work balance while working full time and earning your degree.

Clinical Ladder Program

This voluntary program for career advancement was developed by the clinical nursing staff here at Elkhart General Hospital. The purpose of the clinical ladder is to recognize, encourage, and reward clinical development and expertise in clinical practice for any RN that is part of the EGH team. RNs will have two opportunities each year to be reviewed and to advance through the three-level program. As requirements and competencies are met, monetary bonuses and continuing education credits are awarded. Also, if the requirements for a specific level have been successfully maintained throughout the year, additional education funds will be awarded.
